Adaptec 2940U2W vs 29160?

I currently have the 2940U2W running my Quantum Atlas 10K 18.2GB, PLextor 32X CD-ROM and Plextor 12/10/32S CD-R/RW.

I am thinking of putting the HDD in my wife's computer and getting a Cheetah X15. I will need to buy another SCSI card for this and was wondering if I will see the difference between the 2940 and the 29160? Both computers will be networked together and we don't really do any intensive things with them.

You won't see any real performance differences with a single drive and lightweight multi tasking. If you have the necessary cables, you can pick up a bare 29160 pretty cheap off ebay. You may also want to consider a Tekram DC-390U3W. There is a head to head comparison of these two cards here.
