Here is my setup:
Adaptec 29160N controller -- ID7 (whatever default is)
IBM U2W -- ID0
Toshiba DVD SCSI2 -- ID1
Yamaha SCSI2 -- ID2

I have terminators on the cable with the U2W, a terminator on the Toshiba drive and auto termination for both channels in the Adaptec BIOS.

Boot Win2k CD, gets to the part where it formats the drive, appears to format the drive (gets to 100%), and them it complains it can't do it! What a pain!

I've tried a slipstreamed Win2kSP1 and Win2kSP2 CD with no luck, along with using version 1.00b and 1.12 of the drivers on Adaptec's site and it will still fail on the format of the drive.

Settings in the BIOS are all defaults, I've changed nothing in it at all. This is a brand new card, cables and CD drives, but the hard drive did come out of a system with an Adaptec 2940U2W and was working. I've also done a low level SCSI format on the drive, but it still fails.

Anyone get this working? I'd really, really appreciate if someone could shed some light on this for me.
