I'm looking for input from user's on the following raid controller.

Adaptec 2100s or Mylex 170 under RedHat 6.2

Any problems with either ?

Your opinions/experience greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Jose

i have had experience with the MYLEX accelRAID 250. they are pretty nice and i get about a 170MB/sec burst in NT--6 18gig 10k quantum SCSI drives. this controller came with 16megs of RAM. have not had a problem with them for over a year. we use it for uncompressed video capture. neogenesismedia.com

i think there are not many to no reviews for a lot of Mylex products. our RAID 0 array is mission critical and it has not crashed in over a year now. plus we have a VXA 60gig tape backup drive for our jobs. i would say that any mylex RAID adapter would be perfect for what you are doing.
