Adaptec 19160 - How do you disable the bios?

Im moving my Adaptec 19160 SCSI controller from being used for booting to just being used for storage drives so would like to disable the onboard bios as it is now not needed.
I have looked in the bios for this option but cannot find any options for this and there appears to be no jumpers either on the board that may allow this.
If someone can tell me whether this is possible and how to go about it be much appreciated.

thanx

Yeah I got the same Adaptec SCSI card, unfortunately you cannot disable it. Are you mad that you have to wait 5 seconds more during boot up? I got SCSI DVD's and CDRW's, no HDD's really and it's ok. If you have no use for it, get rid of it.

I find that kind of strange..I am running two 10K SCSI drives on the LVD hannel and a scanner and zip drive as well on the oubound port and it goes by in less than 3 sec....

Just had to disable the Int 13 support and config so that no SCSI ID's were scanned on boot and now its just like having no Bios :)
Thanx for your help guys, appreciated,

rockhard =)

Hehe. I have 14 SCS 10k HDs running on 2 29160 (similar card) and it takes FOREVER to power up and load each drive. My drives are in external SCA chassis and they dont power up until the scsi bus initializes them. Takes about 5 minutes for all 14 to start and initialize. I wish there was some way that they would just spin up on power on. Oh well, the pricw I pay for MASS storage.

Curious - is there not any card on the market that can fire them all up in one go?

Actually the drives are pretty quiet. The are all seagates. The chassis' they are in on the otherhand contain 5 fans each and are quite noisy. My wife hates when I come home. :)
I have tried to check if there are any jumper settings I could muck around with but being that they are all SCA or SCA2 they have no jumpers. :(
