This one won't go away, not even when I hit the close box on the ad

Is this ad running as a video, by any chance? Sometimes the ad can have a cycle it needs to complete first, then it can be closed using the X. If it's a static ad, then that shouldn't be happening. Please let me know, when time allows.

I am not sure if it was a video. Will let you know when I get it again.

Thanks! Also, is the ad permanently blocking all pages, or just some? Does it ever allow you to close it, or does it remain even after 3-5 minutes? Just trying to gather as much detail as possible.

The previous all white one blocked the whole page. It didn't even have close button. This one has button but does nothing.

So, for additional confirmation, if the close button does nothing, does that mean you can't view any pages on the site at all?

I can see whatever part of the thread the ad is not covering. I can scroll up and down.

This is still within the forum structure, not like the ones that redirects to another page completely like the annoying you can win something spams.

Thanks for the additional info. I appreciate it very much.

We're trying to look into this but are having trouble replicating it. For anyone running into these issues, can you provide us with your phone OS version (be as specific as possible) as well as letting us know if you experience this issue anywhere other than on mobile.

Had something similar happen today. A Verizon add popped up that covered the entire screen. Had to close chrome to get rid of it. Happened twice. This was on an android phone.
On the plus side, it pretty much cured me of ever trying to view this place on mobile.

I haven't seen the ad take up the screen issue in a while, but when I click the forums link to see the entire sub-forum list on a phone running Android Pie and Chrome, the ad takes up at least 2/3 or more of the browseable area and remains even as I scroll through the list.

Happening again. Just a white screen. I have to navigate to a different part of the forum and hope I get a different ad. Chrome, mobile.

I've been getting that crap all day...also, the "white page" that just says "advertisement."

This is on an ipad using chrome.

This is getting really fckng annoying.

The struck through is not language we allow in Forum Issues or when addressing the mods in any form whatsoever.

Same here. Using Chrome on Android. Ended up leaving the site every time. This is just unprofessional

Yep good news - ads broke Anandtech again on mobile. Seems to be related to an HP Spectre ad and Anandtech continues to be the only site I go to that has any problems. But at least its a tech site and a continually recurring problem amiright?
