Im on a mac g4 in a corporate environment running OS 8.5 and the newest IE5...and all of the ads are requiring plugins like shockwave or "octet-stream"...is this really neccesary? Any way to rotate these ads out or block it from asking me if I want to install the plugin? please dont say subscribe, I've done more than my share of that in the past.
 
I'm not sure how much IE5 on Mac is similar to IE6 on win/x86, but try checking out the Security, Privacy, and Advanced tabs in Internet Options to see if there are any options under there that might help.
