So if I change my password policy, the current passwords will not have to be changed until the expire - is that correct?

And if I have an account that does not expire, will it continue to work in the new password policy?

Afaik, yes on both counts.

Yes. The only thing to keep in mind is that if password age wasn't enforced before, enabling it will automatically expire passwords older than X...whatever you set the expiration policy to.
