even the judge don't think they are going to get charged. well at least thats how it looks.

from CNN article.

"CHARLESTOWN, Massachusetts (CNN) -- Two men pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges they created panic by placing "bomblike" electronic light boards displaying a cartoon character with an upraised middle finger throughout Boston.

Assistant Attorney General John Grossman called the light boards "bomblike" devices and said that if they had been explosive they could have damaged transportation infrastructure in the city.

Judge Paul K. Leary told Grossman that, according to law, the suspects must intend to create a panic to be charged with placing hoax devices. (Watch a Web video of men placing the light boards on structures around Boston )

It appears the suspects had no such intent, the judge said, but the question should be discussed in a later hearing."

but many are wanting to go after the higher ups. not the people that did what they were told.

Awesome!

I'm all for them not slobbering at media's feet and sensationalizing this situation any more than it already was.

This country is getting more pussified by the second.

sooo how long before someone leaves a water bottle in a bus station and everyone freaks out that it's a bomb? and they find the bottle had contained a substance with liquid-explosive-like properties? [ie: a clear odourless liquid]

On one hand, I'm not sure why anyone would think that's a bomb.

On the other hand, I can't see how that could possibly be an effective advertisement for the show were it not for this bomb scare business.

So I have to wonder what they were going for here.

Might have been part of some kind of contest...

And NO they don't look dangerous.

If you haven't watched ATHF you simply "won't get it". I think it was a brilliant plan that worked out even more successfully than the inventors could have ever dreamed.

They're acting ridiculous for such a ridiculous situation. Just because something has a battery and lights does not make it "bomblike."

They should just be fined for putting it on city property.

They were put up in several other major cities and ONLY the pathetic idiots in Boston made an issue out of it.

And it is an effective marketing strategy because it's inexpensive and people who've seen the show are reminded of it as they're driving along randomly. If I saw that on my commute my reaction would be "YES! That's awesome! I'm going to turn on adult swim when I get home."

The only thing going on here is there are a bunch of people in the boston PD and disaster response teams that need to be fire.

Thanks for the link OP.
The other ones I've seen posted were to Youtube and I can't get there from Work .....

That interview was hilarious.
The press there were a bunch of idiots, they should have listened to what was said when they asked the first quetion and backed off.
Boston blew up a fun and harmless prank into an expensive hoax. If anybody should be charged it should be the incompetent people who caused panic for a lite brite.
