WOW. That's all I can say. Now I can see why no one would ever tell me what it was about. You'd pretty much have to tell the whole plot to get the idea across! :) I think I'm gonna buy that on DVD now.

I own the DVD, excellent movie, excellent DVD. Too bad it got ripped on by the critics, though, because it should've done a lot better at the box office. Speaking of being ripped on by the critics, when(if) you buy the DVD, or for anyone who already owns it, read the little booklet that comes with it. It's very interesting, has a lot of good interviews with the production crews and stuff, and they put little snippets of critic's comments in there, good and bad.

You know, my friend tells me that the book is better. He says it is a little different from the movie.

Fight Club is probably one of the best movies I have ever seen. Sure, there a few holes if you watch it a couple time, but all in all - the message was excellent. It espouses the return to the hunter/gatherer state of mind. Crazy sheot.

I had a friend in Sacramento who was in some kind of fight club. Of course, he told me it was not a rip off of the movie of the same name. But, I know otherwise.

Has anyone here actually read the book? I was wondering if there were any differences between the two.

Well, anyone who has read the book for any movie they just saw will be SURE to tell ALL their friends how much better the book is. That way, they get to seem like they know something you don't about the movie. Very snobby. Now, usually, it's true. But it gets annoying. I saw a comedian talking about it just the other day, so I know it bothers other people. Personally, I have heard the "the book is way better" stuff about Fight Club a few times myself, but I was thinking as I watched it, "There's now way I would want to READ this story." It's so edgy, fast-paced, and UTTERLY VISUAL, I just don't think it would do it for me like the movie. Sure, I get great cinematic pictures in my head when I read. --But I wouldn't have gotten the director's view of this, and whether or not the book has more to say about the storyline, no amount of words can ever possibly communicate what the director did visually in this film.

I wasn't too crazy about it in the end, though I did like it and have the DVD. (Haven't watched it yet.)

I really dug where I thought it was going but when the plot twist happened (for those who haven't seen it, don't wanna wreck it), it came unglued for me and I was thinking stuff like, "Who was driving the car then?"

Can't listen to that Pixies song anymore without thinking of the ending.

If you didn't notice, go watch it again. Twice in the first ~20 minutes of the movie, one clip of Tyler is spliced into the film in a place where he would never be. It's the first hint towards ....... and it also works in with his "job" :D

He was driving the car. Why does that seem unclear to you? Anyway...Konich, I just noticed your sig. How long has it been like that? I would never have noticed it until seeing this movie. :)

Konich,

It was a HELL of a lot more than twice. It happened a lot. I noticed it every time. Keen eye on this one. I REALLY want to watch that movie again, but this time, it has to be DVD. I watched it on HBO, and I found myself grabbing the remote several times and thinking "DAMN." I wanted to pause, rewind, freeze, frame advance, etc...

Well, you remember the part about him splicing single frames of porno movies into children's movies, as part of his job?
For the first 20 minutes of the movie (and elsewhere as well), there are single frames of Tyler.

I remember 4 "subliminable" frames throughout the movie; there may have been more that I didn't pick up on.

There are 3 rules in Fight Club -

1. You must not talk about Fight Club
2. You must not talk about Fight Club
3. You must not talk about Fight Club

You are all banished.
