Well, anyone who has read the book for any movie they just saw will be SURE to tell ALL their friends how much better the book is. That way, they get to seem like they know something you don't about the movie. Very snobby. Now, usually, it's true. But it gets annoying. I saw a comedian talking about it just the other day, so I know it bothers other people. Personally, I have heard the "the book is way better" stuff about Fight Club a few times myself, but I was thinking as I watched it, "There's now way I would want to READ this story." It's so edgy, fast-paced, and UTTERLY VISUAL, I just don't think it would do it for me like the movie. Sure, I get great cinematic pictures in my head when I read. --But I wouldn't have gotten the director's view of this, and whether or not the book has more to say about the storyline, no amount of words can ever possibly communicate what the director did visually in this film.
