oh and nik will love this part:

Earlier, the group tried to rob a man at gunpoint, but he fought off the attackers, police said.

Oh, so you're saying that even though the robbers were fought off, like Nik would've done, and NOT shooting the person that time, they went off and killed a couple later?

Odds are, if the earlier guy had never fought them off, they wouldn't have been as pissed off at losing the money, and probably wouldn't have shot her even with the stupid comment. You know she touched on something very sensitive with her comment now.

So I guess Nik's line of thought as in "better I defend myself now, and take the risk that they don't hurt people later," is still a bunch of bullsh!t.

no, if you read this thread, you'd see that i completely don't agree with nik. i meant that he will like that part and probably will use it to justify his beliefs.

i personally think that they may not have had the gun the first time, and maybe because they failed they went and got a gun. but that's just speculation.

Witnesses told investigators that one of the men grabbed for the other woman's purse and duFresne intervened, asking, "What are you going to do, shoot us?" A man then fired one shot at her, police said.

"GodDAMN awesome dude!"

Did the mods give this guy a vacation yet?

You think so huh? I don't.

Might want to read this: talks about how it's getting impossible to solve crimes in USA due to code of silence, primarly though intimidation of family members.

No that's going to be San Francisco. But yes, it is damn near impossible to carry in NYC. The Island and Upstate are a different story though.

its a movie quote. can remember the name, but i think its eddie murphy and some big black woman fighting in an alley. she whoops his ass, he pulls a gun, she says "whatre you gonna do, shoot me?", and eddie proceeds to shoot her in the toe.

no need for bannage at this time.

It's bascially a ban according to lit I've read from NRA... Sure your high powered union bosses get them (mob), city council members, protection agents, PIs etc ...but unless you got juice you ain't getting a gun period let alone right to carry.

maybe now the NY City Council will pass another law for gun control to make sure it is illegal for people to have guns that buy them illegaly in the first place

If I kick a lion in the face, who are you going to call an idiot?

Yup...
she asked for it.. she got it...
if it was worth so little give the purse and call the cops ..
life to get another purse...

dumb chick... had a Darwin moment and payed for it.

I'd be willing to bet that this gun was not purchased (by the original legal owner) in NYC.
