SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Actor Sean Penn's car -- with two guns in it -- was stolen in broad daylight as he had lunch on a busy street just a block from the campus of the University of California at Berkeley, police said on Thursday.
"It was quite bold, being broad daylight," said police spokeswoman Mary Kusmiss of the theft that took place on Tuesday. "It is a dense commercial district, there were people walking around, driving, there are quite a number of banks around there, so people are doing business, so it is quite unusual."

Penn, 42, who lives just north of San Francisco, was driving a black 1987 Buick Grand National, a collector's favorite. The thief also made off with two guns in the car that Penn had a permit to keep, a handgun and a Smith and Wesson revolver.

Police have not recovered the car, Kusmiss said.

The intense actor has starred in films such as "I Am Sam," "Dead Man Walking" and "Fast Times at Ridgemont High."

I bet the guns were loaded too.

He also told the cops he had two loaded guns in the car.

edit: KingNothing, oops.. yeah at least one was loaded.

Damn that blows, the car is being hacked up for parts right now and his guns are in a pawn shop somewhere. At least he probably has good insurance.

SNL Weekend Update:

"Sean Penn is claiming that he lost out on a promised role in a movie because of his trip to Iraq and his opposition to the US led war. Thus depriving the world of 'I Am Sam 2: Still 'tarded!' "

GN's are supposed to be pretty easy to break into, all you need to do is get into the steering column. It's a real pity, you'd think some peopel would have more respect for a car like that...

Peace activist with 2 concealed weapons. Huh.

Exactly!!! How liberal can you be when Charlton Heston is your President...

That's pretty lame. Posession of a gun doesn't mean you support WAR!!!! The two are not related at all.

Damn, I don't know how to feel about him..he drives an awesome car that only a real enthusiast could appreciate, but he's against the war.

Hmm..

As much as I disagree with his politics, I hate to think of a GN getting cut up as we speak.. 🙁

<- Owns 2 Turbo Buicks..
