ActiveSync with Exchange Issues

i have configured my exchange server for OMA access. SSL and form based login has been disabled to reduce complications for the time being. i can login with "mydomain.com/oma" through my desktop, however, i'm not able to login through my pda phone nor through the desktop's activesync software. when trying to login through the phone, it requires me to enter the password over and over again even though the password is correct.

I don't really do much with ActiveSync, so this is just a guess.

When entering your username, do you put it in the form DOMAIN\Username?

there are two different boxes for username and domain.
_______________

username:_____
password:_____
domain:_______

What happens when you try to log into Outlook Web Access from the phone? Even thought you said you'd disabled SSL, I'd lean towards installing whatever Certificate you normally use for remote access. I exported my SSL certificate on the Server, emailed it to myself, and then installed it on my Axim.

I only got my Dell Axim x51v a few weeks ago, so I'm definitely not expert in these things. I have, though, gotten my Axim to directly synch with my Exchange Server 2003 across a VPN. See if you can log into Exchange using Outlook Web Access. That'll test if you've installed the Certificate properly (assuming you use SSL on your OWA).

I have, though, seen the error where you keep getting a Username/Password/Domain requrest. It still happens every time I try to browse a Share on my SBS 2003 Server. I can browse OTHER PCs in my Domain, but the SBS Server doesn't seem to want me to browse it. I don't know what the problem is.

The other thing you'll want to do is install Exchange SP2. I haven't done that yet on my main office SBS. There are some things you'll probably want to use that you'll only get with SP2. And I'm NOT talking about the "MSFP" stuff.

alright, i've figured it out. i had to disable all ssl including exchange. however, i'd like to keep ssl for security purposes. so it looks like the only way around this is this solution.

yup, I had to do that on our setup too. The virtual directory isn't that difficult to set up, just a pain that it has to be done period.
