I am using my Compaq iPAQ 3835 (PocketPC 2002)with
a WinXP machine and now I can't sync using
ActiveSync when I have my mobile favorites folder
selected for sync. I get an error message that says
WCESMGr.exe application error "memory can't be read" and
then more error messages saying WMS Idle. When I uncheck
the favorites folder and run Activesync
again...everything syncs just fine without any problems.
Did I mess up my favorites folder somehow on the desktop
or handheld?

This happened after I decided to try to change the settings for what happens when favorites are synced. I didn't want to sync offline content so I changed that setting. I've since changed that setting back but now it just won't sync the favorites and crashes as described above.

I've even deleted all favorites in the mobile favorites folder and on the ipaq itself without helping the problem. There must be a file or registry key that is created when you save a favorite. I'm betting that when activesync is looking for changes it looks to this file or registry key to compare. I bet if I deleted this file or registry key that would solve the problem, but where is the key or file?

I've also reinstalled activesync (the latest version) over my old installation of activesync but this didn't help.
