Try this and tell me if it helps:

1) log on with an Administrator-class user account

2) right-click the antivirus's tray icon and choose "Exit." The tray icon disappears.

3) Go to C:\Documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\AOL\AVP6\Bases and delete everything in there.

4) Start Kaspersky again and it should freak out and immediately begin downloading the databases fresh.

Any good?

I had a similar problem when I cleaned my uncle's PC (he was using AVG, now an AOL AVS user). I had to reinstall AOL AVS (which fixed it), also check your system time.

I just ran into this exact problem. Using mech's advice allowed new updates to be downloaded, but I kept getting corrupt messages. I uninstalled and reinstalled (avs_25.exe), used a different key, and everything is ok now.
