I remember seeing in one of those airline skymall mags a set a head phones that uses active noise cancelation technology to drown out the sound of an airplane but not the music you are listening to.
Could this technology be used to quiet a P.C.? I know mine sounds like a jet engine if I run the HSF at the full 12V.
Could it be implemented using only a sound card, microphone and a set of speakers? That is quiet almost any P.C. no hardware required?
the phenomenon of the destructive interference. A "secondary" noise has to be generated, which suppresses the "primary" (i.e. the original) noise at the properly situated microphones.
