I still say that all this nonsense with Donald Trump simply boils down to $$$money.
That would explain why Trump refuses to release his taxes. Donald knows what his returns would expose.
And the endless questions his returns would generate.
So far, all of the lawbreaking found within the Nixon administration has proven true within the Trump administration.
And with Nixon the key to the crime was always "FOLLOW THE MONEY".
That told the whole story.
Well, if Donald Trump refuses to release his taxes, you can't follow the money.
Republicans should insist his tax returns be released. They sure would if this were Obama or Hillary.
But all they care about is the US Supreme Court, and they know Donald will make that happen for them.
So corruption isn't their concern. The republican congress only seeks the supreme court.

ACTIVE MEASURES documentary pretty much explains it all.
This documentary matters to us, but doesn't matter to THEM.

Very interesting point. Getting a Soviet A-bomb transformed Russia from a huge but devastated essentially third world country (devasted by WWII where 1/3 of the total world's casualties were Soviet and also by Stalin's murderous purges) to the world's second superpower overnight.

OTOH ultimately having the A-bomb led USSR down a four decade arms spending spree where the USA was able to outspend the USSR leading to its ultimate collapse.

The argument for the 2016 election scam is that the Russians is the huge amount of benefit the Russians/Putin got for next to no spending or investment, plus there (so far) has been essentially no downside to them, and there probably won't be ever.

Odds are also the USSR would have gotten their own nuclear weapon on their own a few years later anyway. As I recall they developed their own (much more powerful) hydrogen bomb a few years later anyway. With or without the Rosenbergs a nuclear USSR was probably inevitable.

I have read this as well. I have also read that their espionage operation was the largest and most expensive in history. Those 2 facts are difficult to reconcile. It leads me to believe one of 2 things:

(1) They would not have reached nuclear capability on their own within 1-2 years and the timeline was likely much longer
or
(2) They would have reached nuclear capability on their own within 1-2 years, but were so terrified that a nuclear attack from the U.S. was eminent that they spared no expense to speed up their MAD capability by a couple hundred days.

#2 is very thought provoking to me.

Anyhow, this thread can now return to being about Russia + Trump = Evil Butt Buddies. Cuz they are.

You do understand that the IRS has Trumps tax returns? And that "following the money" is pretty much their entire business? These aren't secret documents outlining his criminal history. The idea that he won't make his returns public because they will prove nefarious activity is absurd.

His money is funneled through hundreds of LLCs, pretty hard to follow even for the IRS. A used helicopter he purchased for his resort in Scotland was funneled through 500+ LLCs.

That was my point. Most people couldn't make heads or tails out of Trumps returns.
