Active Directory problem?

We are running Windows XP machines and have started to upgrade to Active Directory. We are encountering several machines losing their SP2 Firewall settings so we have to go back and allow the exceptions back through. Each machine has the latest updates.

My initial thought was that the firewall was having a problem with the updates. I can not seem to find that in any knowledge base though. I do not think the AD global security policies are causing the problem, however, because they are reapplied every 17 minutes and once we set the exceptions back they are staying fixed.

Anyone have any ideas?

I think that with AD, it would be best to disable firewall except on gateways - not sure, but that is what i though
