Anyone know how to get that choice off the START\SETTINGS menu within Win98 SE? Along with the Windows Update ?
 
Well to remove Window Update, just right click the Start Button, and delete the shortcut to Windows Update, and you're done. As for the other thing, haven't used Win98 in a while, so I'll get back to you on that one..

Found out how. You have to add a DWORD value in the registry under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer:

NoActiveDesktop 00 00 00 01



 
Do a search for "Windows tricks" or something along those lines in any\all search engines you can.
