Im just curious as to if having active desktop on decreases performance in games etc dramaaticaly? I have 512 mb so i would think i would hardly notice a difference.. but ya never know microsft. thanks in advance

The reason i want active desktop on is because i found some very cool desktop wallpapers and they all require active desktop to be on

Active desktop is only required if you're using images that aren't .bmp for your wallpaper. Just use an image editing program to convert it to bitmap. (choose "save as", and select .bmp extension...)
