Is it possible to enable a form of active desktop on WinNT? I don't want the actual active desktop itself, I just want some of the features that come with it.... like quick launch, the minimize/maximize with a single click on the task bar.

I know its possible, one of my co-workers has it enabled, but he doesn't know how he did it.

this subject is in the AT FAQ, IIRC. But, here goes. You need ot install IE4 to get these updates. Its weird, but IE5 and 6 do not have them.

So go uninstall whatever browser you are using now, and install 4, then go from there.

the way to get active desktop on NT is to uninstall IE 5/6 whatever you use.. install IE 4 with active desktop and then upgrade back to IE 5/6.
or get a third party utility with similar functions

good luck

IIRC those features originally came out with IE4 and not any particular Win OS release.
