activating windows xp

if u have a pc which has xp and you activate doing online on one. Than u have another w. no kind of connection to the outside world. How xp know u put it on two pcs if it only knows one. Seems strange yep it do this topic is not giving away any warez or cracks but how would ms know they have a wireless link from something in the pc ;-)??

if the computer doesn't have an internet connection the computer has to be activated over the phone. correct me if i am wrong, as i've not done an activation... don't ask why
