I installed windows xp home from a cd different than the one that came with my pc. (both of them
need activation). I used the serial that was on the sticker of the pc(different serail with different cd)
Will i have any problems with activation because i used a serial from another cd, or if want later to repair
the installation?

no. as long as both the serial number and cd are of the same type.

most OEM CD's can be activated with OEM Serial Numbers.

All Retail CD's can be activated with ALL Retail Serial numbers.

so if you are installing Retail WinXP Pro on 30 PC's and you have 30 different Serial Numbers, you can Install and activate all 30 PC's with the one CD.

with OEMs, sometimes Dell or HP will set it up so that their OEM CD's will only work on their systems. i actually haven't run into that with WinXP but i did with a Win98 Compaq CD, it would only install on compaq systems.
