AcTI Catalyst Control Center not working?

Every time I try to load the Catalyst Control Center part of the new 4.9 drivers on my new rig, I get this message:

The app failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135) Click on okay to terminate app
[okay]

I have a Powercolor radeon 9600xt ultra running on windows xp pro sp2.

It's not THAT big a deal for me because I don't game all that much and it's not like i had this functionality before, but I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem/there is an easy fix.

sounds like you need to install Microsofts .NET framework

Do I really need the .NET thing?
I've been told that's nothing but microsoft-approved spyware heh...

You need it if you want to run a program built on it like the control center is. It isn't spyware either, it is mirosoft's answer to java.

I created a .NET passport for myself, however the control panel is still not working. Do i have to change some kind of settings or do something else after i create a .NET thingy to get the control center to work?

nevermind i realized i need to install the .NET 1.1 framework. doh silly me
