Acronis True Image versus Norton Ghost

I've got two hard disks in my PC. The primary is a WD 80GB, and the slave is a WD 40GB. This is plenty of storage for my purposes. My concern, of course, is preserving my important data and files in the event of some hard drive failure.
The primary drive has 4 partitions: C for XP Pro; F for the programs and apps I install and use; G for my data and files; and H for my music files.
Ideally, I want to copy the primary drive onto the slave drive as my backup. And then be able to schedule automatic backups nightly, or every other night, or whatever schedule I think is appropriate. The thinking being that if the primary crashes, I have the slave to step in and pick up the slack with minimal loss of data, if any.
Are either of the above programs good for this? Perhaps another program some use might be better still?
Your opinions, please.

Plenty of threads this past couple weeks on the issue.

Ghost seems to be slipping in the polls.
