I have a copy of 2009 and 2010.

I am going to have 2, possibly 3 windows 7 pc's and one XP box.

Is there something I can use that will let me centrally manage?

Doesnt 7 do image backups on its own? and can you drop them off on a network drive?

I'm ok with buying another copy or two if I have too, since you can get them for 20 bucks somewhere usually.

As far as backups, Acronis is easy if your looking to make disc images. You don't have to install anything. Just boot from the disc and create/restore images. Once made, the images can be stored pretty much anywhere. Acronis has builtin USB support so you can go straight to external. I think it supports network backups also but i'm not sure.

If your looking for a more overreaching solution for backing up all your machines, you might want to looking into building a WHS machine. It will provide network storage as well as make backups of your machines. It may be outside your budget, but i thought i'd mention it.

heheh yeah I've looked into WHS.

Probably cant do that till summer/fall as I just tossed together a new c2d machine

i use acronis now, I just wish I didnt have to separately configure my different machines
