Acronis True Image and USB Hdd

i need to use the acronis true image boot disc and image a hdd to a usb/1394 external hdd. but can't install acronis on the computer in question. anybody know if the full acronis boot disc has these drivers on them? if not, anybody know how to get them on the boot disc?

you don't have to install the app.
i used acronis on a comp that didn't have it installed.

The boot disc contains everything that you need.

Acronis True Image uses Linux AFAIK for its loader so I have found that any type of device that is supported natively under Linux works when using True Image.. I have quite a few USB and Firewire drives and so far it has supported them all. I have even seen it have drivers for this very old Netgear PC Card network adapter that I thought for sure would not work. I have so far been pretty happy with Acronis.. Hope that helps some..

helps out immensley(sp?), the machine that i need to image is are 2003-2004 dell optiplex and precision "workstations".

i have used the boot disc, but never with the usb drive as i will be buying it for this one task alone and want to make sure it will work :D

You can send the image to wherever you want, the only thing that I think doesn't work too well at this time is burning straight to DVD. Supposedly you need to make the image then burn it using your own software. I haven't checked much on this yet.

thanks :D. i know @ home i just break the image parts into 650MB pieces, then do whatever i want with them.
