what I'm looking for is imaging software that will create a compressed image and create a bootable DVD with it.

right now I'm trying to take my existing PowerQuest boot disks and make them recognizable as a bootable image using CD-Shell and Memdisk and it's a real pain in the ass. If I could find a product that would let me make a bootable DVD and put an image on it I'd be SOOOOOO happy.

FYI their Partiton Expert works great too -- I switched from Partition Magic after having problems with version 6.

And unlike PowerQuest PM,
- Acronis doesn't block itself running if you have a server OS installed (PowerQuest wanted to sell you a $1,000 server version of PM)
- Acronis creates a bootable CD during the install, so if you buy the downloadable version you still can run it on new machines without floppy dirves.

The only bad part:
- they don't bundle an equivalent of Boot Magic, you have to buy it separately.

Acronis sadly has a server version of true image for $499 hope they don't do this for partition expert.
