I bought this last week, and have not installed it on any PCs. I have about 5 computers in my house, and I occasionally build/service PCs for friends & family. I plan on using this to do incremental backups on my main system.

If I build a PC, do all the updates and driver installs, can I use TI to make a "recovery disc" for that PC that will work as a standalone later? Is there a licensing issue there? again, I have not installed this yet and have not even used it, so I dont know its full potential. tell me of your tales :)

Yes there is a licensing issue. AFAIK, the last time I talked to my Acronis rep, you need a TrueImage license for every machine that TrueImage touches... whether it be a full install, Boot CD, RIS image or otherwise. If you use TrueImage on a machine, even if it doesn't stay on the machine, you need to buy a license for it.

While I'm all for being fair, the rep did make note to tell me that while the above is true, it's not like they're going to come knocking on your door to check to make sure you're in compliance.
