Acrobat usability issues...

I use acrobat for reading/printing downloaded papers (of course), but it seems that there is an inconsistency in the options. Sometimes it is set to "zoom" with the magnifying glass. I prefer the hand because i always "click" the page to bring it into focus so i can scroll with the mouse wheel. How do i turn off that damn magnifying glass for *all* docs? I have spent some time looking and even asked this here a while back and nothing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you talking about full Acrobat or Adobe Reader? I have version 8 installed in Vista, and the magnifying glass tool ain't even there. Instead there is a - and a + that lets you zoom in and out at will.
