these methods will sufficiently help you acquire a taste for beer. Best if these methods are used frequently and in combination of one another.

ha ha ha...thats the best way to try crap beer. All macrobrew beer is for is a way to get drunk while playing games. I have tried to play games with Killians and it was painful.

You have to determine how "hoppy" you like your beer. The hops give it most of its taste, really hoppy with be like a Indian Pale Ale, the other end is the cheap "water" Macrobrews. Read about how beer is made to understand it better here.

The easiest way is to buy several 6-packs and enjoy them with friends. Try any local brews that you can get your hands on since they are ususally the best!

You must be an idiot.

First, you can't spell and because of that I have to stare at the thread title for a few seconds to figure out what the hell you are trying to say.

Second, you don't like beer (which is a good thing) and want to know what to do to learn to like such a vile thing.

IME real beer was worse than coors light until I acquired the taste for the budlights, coors lights etc I thought all tohers were more heinous and hideous in taste. Then it gradually reversed to where now I dont really like bud light but love microbrews.

try a Corona and put a lime slice in the top. it'll be your midpoint between mixed drinks and beer.

This is how I've gotten used to beer, and how I've taught other people to get used to beer.

Basically you just need to get excited for an event, whether it be a party, tailgate, or otherwise. And tell yourself, "Today... I am drinking nothing but beer."

Learn to get excited for it, and soon it'll taste better than Kool-aid.

Do to one of the larger liquor stores in your area (or any that have the mix-n-match 6 pack), and try a different variety of different types of beer. I would suggest trying to find a wheat beer (something like a new belgium blue moon) and some other non-standard types of beers to see if you like any of them.

here's the only tip you will ever need:
DRINK LOTS OF IT!

i remember back when i didn't care for beer... man that was a long time ago!
i remember just sitting at the bar with my buddies and kinda forcing it down...

DONT SIP IT!!!! beer is not meant to be sipped! just take a couple nice big gulps and it'll go down fast... !

the only way to acquire the taste is by drinking it... lots of it! :) and the best way to drink it is in big gulps cause if you sip it it'll taste bad i guess

CHEERS!

drink lots of liquor until you're already buzzing then start drinking beer. you won't taste as much and it will start to grow on your tastebuds without you even realizing it.

I was almost the same way....but never liked budweiser/light. I alwasy try local brews where ever I am at, and usually like what I try.

Who really cares what everyone else does. Do your own thing and don't worry if you feel or get accepted or not.

Go to the bar and shoot three Irish car bombs in a row and wash it down with a black and tan. You will fall in love with Guinness.

But honestly, its alot easier to jsut do what everyone else does, and alot funner. Doing your own thing is pretty overrated. I have currently mastered beer, but I am still tryin ot acquire a taste for coffee with currently little success, but i keep trying anyways.

The amzing thing about coffee is that $20 a pound beans taste just like mcDonalds coffee if they're too old, roasted poorly or incorrectly, brewed at the wrong temperature, or ground inappropriately.

Go to a small coffee shop that roasts their own and knows what they're doing, if you want good coffee. Also, don't put milk or sugar in it. Well made coffee has as much variety as beer and as much character as wine.

Drink good beer instead of crap. Sounds obvious, but there's a lot of truly bad beer out there and it controls like 90% of the market.

Experiment with different types and flavors and strengths. I hate pretty much every popular American beer, but once I started experimenting I found many smaller labels that had individual beers I could drink. Mostly I prefer black, heavy beers - Guiness, Rogue Shakespeare, etc. I can do a Fat Tire now and again though.

Buy a six pack of Guinness. Drink it. After the hangover wears off, all beer tastes good and Budwiser tastes like water (wait, it is water- nevermind).

Few things to try/know:

1) don't drink crap! "Beer" is as varied as wine, drink the good stuff

2) Try different Beers until you find one you like

3) Don't drink so much. If you drink yourself to puking, you'll just end up hating what made you puke. It's a natural thing.

4) Your tastes will change. When I first drank Beer I had my favorites, but over the years I found new favorites and have found my old one's to be the "meh".

QFFT.

Don't base your general opinion of beer from crap beer. Try different styles and brands of decent to good stuff....

I used to drink a lot of crap beers (i.e. Bud light), but when I tasted Shiner Bock, OMG! If I can get Shiner on tap, I can drink it like water all night long. Too bad you can only get it in the south though. Amber Bock tastes similar to it if you want to try that OP.

You just have to find a good beer that isn't the horsepiss Pilzners they are passing off as beer.

Buy a 12 pack of some mild stuff, like Coors Light, or Bud Light, put it in a cooler to chill, like right before you do something like mow the lawn, wash your car, or clean the garage. When you get done, and not before, crack an "Ice cold beer", and drink it. It was damn good, wasn't it? :)

That's the way you like an Ice cold beer! :)
This is good advice. I recommend Coors Light over Bud Light for first timers but either will work. The key is the beer has to be really really ice cold, bury it in ice for an hour before you drink it... and it helps if you are very hot. And if you still don't like it, give me a ring and I will come over and finish off the rest of them for you. :D

I don't care for most American made beers except Shiner Bock and no matter how many I have, I never really aquire the taste for them. I'd much rather have a strong Jack and Coke.
