ACPI vs CPU temperature...help needed

If I disable ACPI in the BIOS, my CPU temperature in windows rises with 20°C (as if windows is constantly running something). Is this normal??
If I run cooling software it returns to it's normal operating temperature.

Can someone check this on his computer?? Just disable ACPI in BIOS and start windows (windows does ask for the location of the drivers...all the drivers on windows cdrom should be stored on the HD you're booting from), then you must check for your temperature and compare it to when ACPI is enabled.

I would really appreciate it if someone would test this.

ACPI has cooling software built in. The only way to get the cooling on the older motherboards was to run RAIN or some other type of cooling program. So, yes, what you are seeing is normal.
