can someone please tell me how to disable
acpi in win98se? i can not do this through the
bios (my mobo is an abit kt7 raid)

check out http://go.to/kt7faq and check for a way to modify the bios on your kt7 raid to enable the 'disable acpi feature' at the bios level. There are alternative methods of preventing acpi through the Os, but can i ask why you want to disable acpi?. If its related to corrupted system files then there are other better work arounds for win98.

be/c my system keeps locking up 5-30 minutes into
windows and i thought this may be some acpi issue...it
could also be a overheating cpu issue...but i am checking
the via hardware monitor and the cpu temp is below 55 degrees
