I just installed a dual boot setup on an Abit SE6 motherboard with WinME and Win2K. However, during the Win2K install I had major problems initially. The system would boot from CD and fun through Fdisk and format and then copy install files over prior to reboot. Then during first reboot, the machine hard locked at detecting hardware. Some investigation made me suspicious of ACPI. I disabled it in BIOS and went through complete install again, had to redo fdisk and file copy. Install went fine so after running on Win2K, I turned ACPI back on. System would then lock at the boot select menu. Turning it off and Win2K would boot fine. If I change the computer type in Win2K to ACPI system and turn this back on in BIOS, would I expect it to work or am I just heading for big trouble, like a complete reinstall? Anyone experience anything like this and can make recommendations?
