Acoustic Edge hiss

Hello all,

Got a Philips Acoustic Edge and have been fairly impressed so far... then I tried to record using the "stereo mix" option in Goldwave. This is similar to the "What you hear" setting on the SBLive where the card records anything coming out of the speakers (or headphones in my case). Problem is, anything recorded this way has a noticeable HISS in the background, and sounds "warmer" than the normal outputs usually do. Anyone else notice this? Is this something I'll just have to live with?

Thanks,

Dave

did you mute all the other input levels in Windows sound prop, ones that your not recording through?

Hmmm... well, after a MB swap that didn't go so well, I'm back where I started with my old stuff... oddly enough, everything seems to be working much better now. At least my hiss is gone. 🙂
