You know that new drivers sound good but the newest set (2-18-01) are still very buggy. Guess what I hear over in 3dss about the AE in w2k:
(yes this is 3rd or fourth hand, and I dont want to believe it really, but its still interesting to note)

He (the Philips tech rep) had many interesting things to say. First of all, they never really expected the Acoustic Edge to work in Win2K. They figured it wasn't really necessary, since it was a derivative of NT, and therefore would have lousy multimedia support. Surely most sound cards would have poor Win2K support as well, so the fact that they're drivers crashed constantly wouldn't be an issue.
Of course, that's untrue. When they finally realized that other cards, like the SB Live, work perfectly well under Win2K they were shocked. He really wasn't all that sure they were pursuing it much, though. He said he really didn't think they were even working on new drivers, since the latest ones were fairly new. Although he admitted to not having really knowing that for sure.
Disheartening, no? I'm going to stick it out for a little longer, but if a month goes by without *any* fixes... Well...

I'm going to have to agree with this guy, its disturbing to say the least. Its just funny because it seems as though most people get their AE working just fine in w2k and its just a handful of unlucky people that get crapped on... like me.
