Looks pretty good. I was just reading the owners manual at Acom. It has some special software included that some may or may not want. In My Computer, it shows up as 2 separate drives, like a CD portion and a hard drive portion. The only thing is you can't get rid of the CD portion of the external drive, you are stuck with it, at least that's what the owner's manual says.

Here is some more info on AcomData E5 HybridDrives series. FAQs are HERE.

I don't see the CD partition as a problem. It is a small amount of space. Just remember your password if you use the security feature, else you can end up with a blank drive!

The HD partition comes preformated with FAT32. They provide instructions how to format it to NTFS for Win2K and WinXP users. Document indicates that it can be partitioned.

CompUSA has the AcomData E5 HybridDrive 250GB for $79.99AR +tax +s/h this week(3/10).

Fry's Outpost also has this for $129AR (+tax for some) with free shipping until 3/6.

Good deal for half a TB!

Thanks OP!
