but does it work?
It varies per person. I took it when I was younger and had bad acne and it worked miracles. However, it does carry several side effects. The only one I suffered was the obvious extremely dry skin and easy sun burn. However, the drug has been linked to serious depression and a few other serious side effects. A 1 month dose (full dose is 6 months IIRC) is ~$400.Originally posted by: shady06

Proactiv....it's like $45/mo. and won't dry you out big time like Accutane can.

The funny thing about acne is that in preindustrial civilizations it is unheard of. Go to any of those rainforest tribes and there is no acne. So are the forest people immune to it or something? No. Europe was the same way once. So was America. It wasn't until the widespread use of processed foods (sugar, flours, etc) that acne became a problem. Recent studies have showed that in cultures that were indoctrinated in to "modern culture" recently they went from having no acne to having just as much of a problem as any other modernized culture.
Perhaps if people ate better they wouln't have such an acne problem...
