Okay I'm starting to get acne on my back. I'm 23 so I don't think its just being a teenager thing. Any good ways to get rid of it?

Go up to any hot looking girl and ask her to pop them for you.

It's a great way to meet hot looking girls...

Obviously the replies of insensitive dweebs who've never experienced the problem :|

Go to a dermatologist, the only remedies are going to be prescription.

Your first mistake is asking a serious question on this forum, because you'll get one serious answer and about 30 smarta$$ replies. If the idiots here knew anything, adult acne is more prevelent than teenage acne, and your best bet is to get a prescription from your dermatologist.

I've always found that mine is fine in the summer. My theory is that I get more sun and less back irritation. During school, I notice acne appears where my shoulder straps are always at! It drives me nuts! (and I'm 22)

it may not be acne, but could be folliculitus. They are both easily confused. Either way, your family doctor can prescribe the correct prescription or you may get antibiotics. As a worst case scenario, you'll get a referral to a dermatologist.

strong words from somebody who's been here less than a month.

You can try to use the facial wash as a body wash, or Neutrogena has these body-cleaner formulas (the name escapes me right now, but the soap is orange). I had some pimples on my arms that kinda died down when I used the formula, but they were very light anyways and nobody could tell. They have the same active ingredient as most acne creams/facial washes do, just to a lesser degree.

I'm 35 and I still get the occational face pimple if I don't regularly use Oxy, or I'f I'm stressed, or if I've caused any irritation to my face. I also get moderate bacne during the winter.

If your bacne gets worse during the winter, try going to a tanning bed twice or three times a week for just 10 minites or so each session. Don't try to get a dark tan or anything, just a normal amount of sunlight like you would get in the summer. If you can, go to a salon with stand up booths. Laying down on your back on hard plastic, stewing in your own sweat will just irritate your skin further.

Whatever you do, do NOT scrub or scratch your back. Don't pop any pimples with the exception of blackheads. This only causes irritation and makes it worse. Pimples come in clusters because we pop them, rub them, scratch them and scrub them and irritate the surrounding area... causing even more pimples.

I had small pimples here and there on my back during winter, but once track season started and i began to practice, they all went away. Maybe the key is for sweat to run through those pores?

I've actually been here much longer than you think. This is a name that I liked better than the one that I was using previously, so I decided to switch.

Back to the question at hand, after seeing your PCP, you'll get a referral to a dermatologist, where he'll probably give you a prescription for tetracycline, or in more extreme cases, minocycline. Accutane is also another possibility, but that's usually for severe cases of acne.
