ACLU Pizza Ordering of the Future

You do realize that this is the oldest joke in the history of the intarweb right?

I can confiedently call repost on this, without doing a search of even looking to see if it was posted previously.

Ya.. I'm starting to get pretty pissed off at this 'save all your info' sh1t. I mean.. it's one thing when the places I normally order food from save my CC info (with my permission) so I can order food in like 2 minutes..

It's really starting to piss me off that every goddamn place wants all my personal info so I can save a significant amount of money.. I mean.. ABC Liquour made me fill out a form just like the grocery stores do.. So, they can keep track of everything I buy - or I can choose not to save money. The only store that doesn't keep track, right now, is Publix.. So, I go there usually.

I mean.. If Office Depot, ABC Liquor, CVS Pharmacy, Kash n' Karry, Albertsons.. and all my CC card companies shared my info, I'd look like a pretty fvcked up person if I was held to some 'gold' standard. Fvck that.

It's the USA.. aren't my rights supposed to be guaranteed even if I'm an alcoholic society bottomfeeder?

which rights do u mean? the only right you're guaranteed here is the right to choose where you want to do business, and you're making the right choice in Publix. and that's why a phone call for pizza will never be like this because nobody would ever call back. unless of course the liberals come into power and create gov't-owned pizza chains to feed the poor.

I'm afraid it is happening already.

Smoking was first, the others will follow.

FEAR FEAR FEAR!!!!!

COMPLACENCY COMPLACENCY COMPLACENCY!!!!!!

Wow, it's pretty easy to regurgitate and shout out some catch phrases in short succession, but both you and I know nothing is as simple as you being complacent or him trying to spread fear. Both of you put considerable thought into your philosophies and political standpoints, so why not show some respect?

what's wrong with pizza co knowing my number and address when i call? i hate having to yell out my number and address all slowly to some person that can't speak english.

A few of the delivery places on campus keeps that kind of info. School Card #, dorm room, telephone number. Saves time

I'm not spreading fear. Just saying don't let this happen.

I'm just afraid it IS happening and society WANTs it. That's the scary part.

I've been preaching for years about the slippery slope and being called just a little looney for it. "nah, that can't happen" "no way" All while it comes to fruition.

Chances are if you get a card at one place, it will work at all of them. I have a "frequesnt shopper card" I got from Albertsons by filling out bogus info. The card works at Albertsons, Kroger, and Tom Thumb/HEB/Randalls grocery stores.

This is so unrealistic its hilarious.

I don't think so. As GenX said information like this is usually freely given. People give personal information to a company for convenience and "forget" to read the fine print. This information is then passed around. I wouldn't call it a slippery slope, really, because people aren't sliding down it against their will--they are letting it happen freely through their laziness and ignorance. Of course, this isn't exactly nefarious. If you don't mind letting everyone in the world know personal information (and many don't seem to mind), then there's no problem for you. But it ends up being an issue when people who don't want this information spread find that they have no alternative. This shouldn't happen in a free-market economy of course, as long as the government doesn't get involved.
