"They're opposing rules that let authorities monitor books people read and carry out secret searches."

How can they "monitor"... seems a real time endevor... and secret... "suppose it won't be body" searches.... real time again..??

Is this one of them "one in the hand ... tis better than two in the bush... Jokes?"

Take a look at ACLU's web site. It goes into detail why they are challenging parts of the Patriot Act. Section 215 allows federal officials to get a list of the books you borrow/buy from a library/book store, web sites you've visited, etc. There's a gag order built in so anyone who is asked for this information cannot divulge it. Further, to obtain your personal records, the FBI does not have to show probable cause.

Ashcroft is a Nazi. No other way to describe him. If he could get away with it, he would put every Arab and Muslim in detention camps. He's probably the single biggest threat to America since McCarthy.
