So here I am with my dad this morning looking up hummus recipes on the Internet, since I promised I'd make some hummus dip and grilled pita wedges as an appetizer for a potluck dinner. Of course, neither myself nor my dad are any good in the kitchen, and some of the ingredients were quite foreign to us.

First challenge was figuring out tahini. Apparently its ground up sesame seeds and is available by the jar. Okay, check, move on.

Next is ground cumin. I know cumin is a seed, but what does it look like? Time for Google image search. Safesearch is off...
