I've spent the last month and a half lurking and posting on these boards looking for the best computer set up. I've finally figured out what I'm buying and just as I'm getting ready to input CC information I get the following warning on Newegg.com -

IMPORTANT!

Your order contains a microprocessor (CPU). Please read the following CPU warranty and refund policy:
All OEM CPU's carry a limited 30 day warranty.
All Retail packed CPU's carry a 3 year manufacturer warranty and must be serviced by the original manufacture.

All CPU's can only be refunded within the first 7 days from invoice date.
Items must be post marked within this 7 day refund window, no exceptions. Defective CPU's will be replaced, not refunded. Newegg.com does not cross-ship CPUs. All defective CPUs will be replaced upon return.

The point I'm wondering about is: how do I tell if I'm getting a 30 day limited warranty on my 1.4 tbird or the 3 year manufacturer warranty? Do I have to buy the one that comes with a heatsink and fan to get the 3 year warranty? -

AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.4GHz 266MHz Bus Socket A PGA Processor-OEM Version Stepping AYHJA(Requires fan that supports 1.4GHz processor $116

AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.4GHz 266MHz Bus Socket A PGA Processor-Retail Box Version with Heatsink and Fan $128

And if I do, does it not have ayhja stepping? Is that why it has the 3 year warranty? Heh, thanks for responding I wanna place this order before the sis 735s go out of stock again...
