I think a fist sized dent on a $700 car caused less than $500 of damage. People trying to profit from fender benders is one of the reasons everybodys insurance rates are so high.

hey, if you're lucky, your insurance company will just go, "hmm, ok, we've got a little fender-bender here... should be no problem... uh-oh, wait a minute, it's a pontiac grand am. better just total that sh!t!" and you'll get to walk with a check, which is what you wanted in the first place. :)

why would i call MY insurance company?

never heard of no-fault insurance?

if i was going to keep the car i wouldnt care either. but trying to sale it yeah i do care.

I still wouldn't care. I did read the thread :) You are not going to get less for it. with a dent or lose bodywork. a running drivable car is worth >=$500. A running drivable car with one larger dent and lots of smaller ones and lose bodywork is worth >= $500.

hmm perhaps you are right.

soppose i can try to SALE it for a week if not then just be an ass and report to her insurance.

SUPPOSE. it's SUPPOSE. you IDIOT.

edit: also sell

I highly doubt that a small dent is going to do much to the selling price of a 93 pontiac POS. Hell, if a car even runs its worth at least $500. If it runs ok, has had some mechanical work and can be called a semi-reliable car its worth 700 easy. If the thing has AC then you could probably get more for it.

Id probably call the insurance company and pocket a bit of cash on this one. You are not screwing this lady over, this is why people have insurance. May not even effect her rates, and if it does maybe it will remind the old bat to drive more carefully

that doesn't matter. that isn't how car value works.

actually to a point it does. little thing ssuch as how it runs and how the tires are on a cheap car are important.
