NOT sure WTF is going on...
I traded in my SB Live! 5.1 Platinum in for a new spiffy SB Audigy Platinum and I went home to install it in windows ME and it crashed when it got to 97% complete. Ok so i rebooted, and only installed the drivers, splat at 97%.
Ok fine... I needed to do it anyways... Low level format my hard drive and then install Windows ME. Lets try again, Splat at 97% again. ARGGGGGG...
Ok, lets do it manually, but updating the drivers in device manager and as soon as I get to install the drivers for "Audigy processor" SPLAT!!!
Oh by the way, SPLAT means BLUE SCREEN or it just hangs
Ok... fine... format my hard drive again and install windows 98!!! Ok lets try it again... NOPE :|
Ok... wait... lets copy the Audigy CD-ROM to a folder on my clean hard-drive... well that was a waste of time, same issue...
FINE
Lets reformat and install windows XP Pro!!! Hey.... guess what - I got sound and it works all spiffy!!! no hangs or SPLATS... I just want to use Windows ME, i really dont like to use XP for gaming...
Any Suggestions would be appreciated
setup:
ABIT KG7
Geforce 2 GTS
AMD 1400mhz 266fsb processor
1 gig of Crucial ram
what i tried?
I tried putting the audigy in all the PCI slots, my SB Live! worked ok before in slot 4

Oh, one more note... If for some reason i rebooted after the installation hung or blue screened, my sound WOULD work, but it would not see my geforce card... The geforce card is on IRQ 11 and the audigy was on IRQ 10

this sucks... and if you have ever done a Low Level format or even a Normal Format on a 60 gig hard drive - HOLY CRAP BATMAN!
