So every now and then I get a acid/burning sensation in the back of my throat and at the top of my esophagus I guess? Is it heartburn? Acid Reflex? Something else? It's more annoying than anything else, so I was just trying to figure out what it is.

heart burn is acid reflux
is it chronic or just from time to time?
if chronic, you may have GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease) which requires treatment

It's not heart burn. I think I know exactly what you're talking about... It usually takes an hour or more to go away, no matter how much you drink or eat to try to get it away. My best guess is that it's some stomach acid that took a wrong turn. It's definitely not a pleasant experience, that's for sure... no idea how to make it go away or not happen though. :)

most likely acid reflux... if you are really worried about it, I would write down when it happens, and then log what you most recently ate and your current agitation level..

acid reflux is usually caused by diet but can be sign of the above mentioned GERD.. usually not tho. <rant>Pharm. company wants to sell lots of Nexium so they make everyone think they need prescription drugs for everything. </rant>

It doesn't happen very often at all, I just noticed it a time or two in the past few days... If it keeps up I will write down when the occurances occur and see my doctor.
