For the last couple of years I've been using a small table and floor chair that has been OK. But I find that if I spend several hours at a time, everyday, my lower back just kills.
Anyone had success in creating an ergonomic workstation?

There are a lot of sites on this stuff.

This one seems to be pretty thorough.

You will feel an a$$ ton better once you get an ergonomic setup for your computing.

The most important things (for me anyway) are a chair with lumbar support and making sure the keyboard is at the proper height.

your body is just telling you to get up your ass and clean up your kitchen and make up your bed, etc.

proper chair height.

That was my hunch (no pun intended). I'll have to try a totaly new setup, off the floor. Damn Japanese houses.

yeah, personally I think the expensive chairs are all rip offs. The real problem like other mentioned is posture and height. Also dont sit there like a statue all day. Move around!

I always have the problem where I fidget in my office chair too much.. I just can't get comfortable in it and I highly doubt it lessens my back pain the way I sit :p.
