Hello,
I'm a noob with all of the new AMD 64 chips and was wondering what it takes to get a 2000mhz system bus on an abit av8? Can you do it with ddr 400 or does it need to be ddr 500? I'm going to put my all-in-wonder 9600 on the new cpu/mobo and am wondering if
I will notice that much of a difference in HL2, Doom 3, WOW etc. Right now I have a 1.4ghz XP with a 333mhz fsb.

Thanks,
Jason

DDR 400 is the highest official spec for DDR1, so you won't need anything more than that. Besides, the effective 2000MT/s (mega-transfers/second, I think) figure is produced through two multipliers--first, the 5x HT multiplier (default), and 2x for going both ways. The core clock that is multiplied from is still 200MHz.
