Ace's Hardware reports they got a Barton 3000+ running at 266MHz bus speeds on some older boards listed here as well as the faithful K7S5A (not sure which revision however).
At a FSB of 266mhz I wonder if the Barton would be equal to or less than its counterparts... (Was there ever a 133mhzFSB 2700+ ever produced? Or were they all 166mhz?)
All 166, you're right. Ace's suggests that you would bump your CPU's multiplier (by bridge manipulation I suppose) to get its MHz back up. I'm not really advocating this approach when you can get an 8RDA+ for $100 and do it right 😉 but I thought it might be of interest regardless.
