No this is not a post about a sale. So I'll obscure that bit of info unless you really want it.
<insertwebsitehere> has the Acer XG270HU for sale. It's $350 after a promo code (normally $500).
It's 1440p, 144mhz, 1ms GtG, and Freesync.
Downside: it has a lot of negative reviews due to a flickering black-out problem when using Freesync. Allegedly the shipping firmware does not play along well with changes made to AMD's display drivers sometime within the last year or . . . whenever. So Freesync is b0rked unless you ship the monitor to Acer for a firmware update. Then it's fine. Also no VESA wall mount but I don't give a damn about that.
Anyone have any additional specific knowledge about this monitor? I've been hesitant to get away from 4:3 but at least I'll get a little more vertical real estate with 1440p vs my old 1600x1200 beast. I'm looking at Vega 64 "eventually" which would be a trifle absurd with this old monitor.
If the e-commerce site has worked with Acer to update all the firmware before selling the monitors, then hey great, but I suspect that that has not happened, hence the sale.
