Problems include the screen only working some of the time: sometimes it just turns black at the login screen, sometimes it turns so dark you cant read it, sometimes everything gets a pinkish tinge, sometimes the pixels on the desktop take on a life of their own. The headphone jack doesn't work, sound still comes out of the speakers when headphones are plugged in (how easy would that have been to test!?). The webcam (OrbiCam) mounted on the top of the screen will not connect using the acer software etc, the computer just can't find it. I have updated drivers etc. The bluetooth slide switch only works part of the time. And the easiest and most obvious, the laptop is missing a rubber foot. All these issues were listed and emailed back to me by the Acer CSR and if anything got fixed it was solely the display issues, but it's hard to tell because those were intermittent.
Just got off the phone with a "level 2" CSR and he said the tech tested everything and it all checked out. I had to have him listen to the laptop over the phone with headphones plugged in before he would acknowledge there might still be a problem.
I had hoped they would overnight it back to them and overnight it back to me, but the most they would concede was second day to them, and that they'd try to speed up the repair process. Never again will I buy Acer, nor would I recommend them to anyone else. However, this is my opinion and my opinion alone. I'm sure some people have had good experiences.
Edit: The only fix they did was "Updated thermal module." The level 2 guy said the put new tape on the heatsink... This boggles my mind
